January 2008
Act together for another world! 26th January 2008
The World Social Forum (WSF) - an open meeting place where social movements, networks, NGOs and other civil society organizations opposed to neo-liberalism come together to seek concrete action towards building another world - has taken the form of a permanent world process since its first world encounter in 2001.
In 2008, a Global Call for Action promoted by many international networks was launched inside the WSF asking social movements and civil society worldwide to mobilize together in the week culminating on January 26, 2008.
It is promoted by all the organizations and movements at the global, national, and local level who refer to the WSF Charter of Principles.
