The Secretariat of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) is collecting stories from local communities that speak of experiences on women’s role in combating desertification.
The Secretariat of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) is collecting stories from local communities that speak of your experiences on women’s role in combating desertification and the importance of their involvement in the UNCCD process as key players in household management, cultivation of tree nurseries and land, reforestation, water management and sustainable agriculture.
The stories will be compiled into a leaflet(s) for use in public information material and campaigns and posted on the website, as case studies that specifically show the role of women in combating desertification. They will be kept in UNCCD's databank as well to be used for all future references when discussing women and desertification.
With this aim in mind, UNCCD has prepared a set of guidelines to help you orient through the writing (available in the link below in pdf format).
