Linking Alternatives 2: Social Encounter Latin America, Europe and the Caribbean

The fourth Summit between the Heads of State and Government of Latin America, the Caribbean (LAC) and the European Union (EU) takes place in Vienna, from 10-13 May 2006. Parallel to the official Summit, and under the theme of “Linking Alternatives 2”, social movements, non-governmental organisations and other civil society organisations from both regions will organise an encounter of alternatives, built around five key themes: the effects of neo-liberal globalisation; EU-LAC development co-operation; militarisation and human rights; EU-LA political dialogue; and alternative regional integration strategies.
