Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC)
ECLAC -the Spanish acronym is CEPAL- is one of the five regional commissions of the United Nations. It was founded for the purposes of contributing to the economic development of Latin America, coordinating actions directed towards this end, and reinforcing economic relationships among the countries and with the other nations of the world. The promotion of the region's social development was later included among its primary objectives.
Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO)
The FAO of the United Nations was founded with a mandate to raise levels of nutrition and standards of living, to improve agricultural productivity, and to better the condition of rural populations.

Hong Kong People's Alliance on WTO
The HKPA is a network of grass-root organizations based in Hong Kong that aims to derail WTO’s attempt to conclude liberalization agreements; pressurise Hong Kong government to engage civil society in its negotiations within the WTO; raise local awareness on the unjust distribution of global economic power; promote local anti-privatization campaign and arouse concern of the impact on Chinese working people since China’s accession of the WTO.
New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD)
NEPAD is a pledge by African leaders, based on a common vision and a firm and shared conviction, that they have a pressing duty to eradicate poverty and to place their countries, both individually and collectively, on a path of sustainable growth and development and, at the same time, to participate actively in the world economy and body politic.
Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)
The OECD groups 30 member countries in a unique forum to discuss, develop and refine economic and social policies. They compare experiences, seek answers to common problems and work to co-ordinate domestic and international policies to help members and non-members deal with an increasingly globalised world.
Organisation of African Unity (OAU)
The Organization's Charter was signed by Heads of State and Government of 32 independent African States. Its main purpose is to promote the unity and solidarity of the African States.
Organization of American States (OAS)
International organization developed to achieve an order of peace and justice, to promote solidarity between american States, to strengthen their collaboration, and to defend their sovereignity, their territorial integrity, and their independence. Within the United Nations, the Organization of American States is a regional agency.

South Centre
Intergovernmental body of developing countries created in 1995 by Intergovernmental Agreement. It has 46 formal member countries. Its goal is to provide analysis of development problems and experience, as well as to provide intellectual and policy support required by developing countries for collective and individual action in the international arena.
